Silver bells are swinging! Happy December everyone. We’re excited for this month and that PRs are already making their way to the board. This is a great month to re-test a skill or workout with your primary coach, or come get your %body fat tested to establish a baseline. You can always make the most out of every opportunity you have to be better than yesterday - and there are lots of opportunities.

COMMUNITY

Thank you to all our athletes that brought a friend to our first Saturday Friend Fest! And congrats to everyone who ran the bridge!

As the year draws to an end we love to celebrate all of your success and simply enjoy each other’s company. You don’t want to miss the annual HPA Holiday Party this Friday night from 7-10. We’ll provide food, beer, and wine. (But feel free to bring your own if you’re picky). Remember no kids and no gym clothes allowed. We’ll have games and awards. It will be a night to remember!

Because of the Holiday Party there will be no 4:30, 5:45, or 7pm class.

Hyperlink - Let’s make an impact! You’ve seen what happens when we bring together the power of our little community. This Holiday season we want that to reach further than our 4 walls. Help us as we collect food donations to power the kids at Performance Initiatives.

HyperLink will be hosting a non-perishable food drive for the kids of Performance Initiatives. A lot of the kids that train at Performance Initiatives are coming from a much more difficult place than we could ever imagine and could really use our help!! Also, with the school holiday coming up, a lot of these kids will no longer have access to free school lunches. Our vision is to collect enough food for these children to keep them well fed for their holiday break so they don't feel the pain of hunger.

Collection bins will be at the gym starting Monday, November 21st and will be available until December 16th. Thank you in advance for all your help!!

TRAINING

Our training is now 90% focused on Open-esque movements and time domains. We will start to incorporate some intense interval work over the next several weeks. We will start with some longer intervals and work our way down to outright sprints. We will get really good at cycling the barbell with these workouts. Thursday will be another trunk-tastic test. A super fun team WOD rounds out the week.

Barbell Cycling Skill Clinic with Coach K.O. This Saturday at 10am. Learn tips and tricks for bigger and quicker sets of the barbell movements found in the Open - thrusters, deadlift, snatches, overhead squats, cleans. These little knowledge bombs - like how to breathe, set-up, and efficiently string reps together add up to make a BIG difference in a workout. Let Krista help you crush that next Isabel ;)

KIDS HOLIDAY CLASSES - this year our kids get a chance to workout right alongside Mom and Dad during the break. From December 19th to December 30th we’ll have an 11:30 kids class each weekday at 11:30. Kids classes are 10 for $100 or $10 drop-in for these two weeks. (Please note that if you bring your kids at this time, they must participate in the kids class).

  • Sat Dec 24th - normal

  • Mon Dec 26th and Tues Dec 27th - classes at 6:15, 11:30, and 5:45 only
