It’s LOVE month! Can you feel it? These next few days get outside and soak up as much vitamin D as you can. It’s good for the soul (and your immune system).
At CFHP we are always striving to improve to build a tighter community. Every person, new and seasoned, is an important part of it. The more you give to others, the more you’ll get back in return. Introducing yourself to someone you don’t know when you come to class is what we do. It’s just the start of a better, higher energy class that helps everyone improve. So make sure to come on time (that means 5 minutes early) and introduce (or re-introduce) yourself to athletes you may not know.
This week at the gym - you’ll see some MODs popping back up but AFTER the workout. The WOD intensity is still top priority as we get ready for Friday Night Lights and the Crossfit Open. After the workout you’ll see some extra strength, gymnastics, or conditioning work to get done. Make sure you are tracking your scores in the new ZenPlanner mobile app or in your journal.
Instructor Training Program
Saturday 2/6 noon - Instructor Training Program Interest Meeting. If you think this may be for you, be there at noon to learn all about our ITP and the next steps. ITP is a combination of classroom lecture, hands-on experience, and work experience required of any future coach at CFHP.
Calling all new athletes! We are beta testing the curriculum for a series of getting started sessions and need some testers. The less crossfit experience, the better. We are also using this as a training tool for ITPers to practice teaching the movements. Please join us for 4 classes each Saturday at noon starting Feb 27th. There is no cost as long you can give us honest feedback.
BRING A FRIEND DAYS are back.
Thursday Feb 11th - WBBC Bring A Friend Day @ 6pm at Calvary batting cages. (Crossfit members and friends are welcome).
Friday Feb 12th - Bring A Friend Day - all class times
Saturday Feb 13 - Bring a Friend Day (Battle of the Sexes) - 9am and 11am
Remember - you are you’re friends ambassador for class. Let them know where to park. Meet them at the gym about 10 minutes early. Introduce them to the coaches and other athletes. Show them where to put their stuff….etc. Friends arriving after class has started will not be allowed to participate, so make sure to tell them to be there early.
Friday Night Lights!
There will be no 11:30, 4:30, 5:45, or 7pm classes on Fridays on Feb 26th and all of March. Because we’ll holding 5 MASSIVE community events each week. Whether you want to throw down, cheer like it’s no-one’s business, or just party with the cool kids each week - Every member should plan to be there. We’ve got a few surprises up our sleeves. So mark your calendars now.
If you want to participate, make sure to sign up online. It’s only $15 for all 5 weeks and includes your team shirt. On Feb 13th we will create the teams. As a team member you’ll have a go to coach to help you warm-up and strategize for the workout, experienced competitors on your side, and new people to cheer on. You want to be on a team! Each team will be responsible for organizing one week’s “party”. Teams get points for participation, spirit, weekly homework like mobility, and community outreach.
A couple of weekly sponsorships are still available if you know a business that would love to be a part of the event. Contact Avery Bragg for more details.
