Do I have to be in shape to start?

Those who have started their fitness journey know that:

 

1) It is never easy to start something new, and

 

2) What was I thinking??

 

Everything new we do has a starting point. It all has a first step.  Beginning (or restarting) your fitness journey with potent functional movements and large community can be scary, exciting, nerve wrecking, and a tad intimidating...BUT, there is a reason why it feels that way.

 

It is something out of our comfort zone and it just feels weird. 

 

Crossfit is nothing different. Yes, there are athletes who have been here for many years and have had their fair share of time here in the gym and I totally understand how that can be intimidating. Trust me, I have been there. That first visit can be so overwhelming. But isn't everything new that we try??  I guarantee, those seasoned athletes walked in feeling the same exact way. We all have to start somewhere. 

 

The great thing about Crossfit is, that it is for absolutely everyone! No, you do not have do not have to "be in shape" to start, you just have to start. One of the many reasons it is so amazing is because we (your coaches) know it is challenging and takes time getting used to, but we do our best to meet you where your fitness level is. Part of Crossfit is all about finding that inner strength...physically AND mentally. Your coaches are here to make sure you are safe, having fun, and improving your overall health.

 

Hyperformance specifically is all about making sure YOU are comfortable with each movement prior to jumping into classes. Our goal is to make sure you understand the movements and feel comfortable and confident about them before you repeat them in a workout. And don't get me started about this incredible community!! Every single person working out right beside you are here to support you and cheer you on every step of the way. 

 

Just like any fitness program, you have to start somewhere. The movements never change or get easier, you just improve and get stronger. 

 

So, NO, you do not have to "be in shape" to start Crossfit. You just have to start! We are all here to get you to your goals and make working out the best hour of your day.
