HERO WODs

This November we remember two of our own heros. Hummeldorf November 19 and Vogeler November 20. These workouts are tough, but also scalable. When you come to class, you absolutely need to be on time.

HOLIDAY PARTY!!!!

HPA Holiday Party Dec 15th. No kids, no gym clothes allowed. Join us the evening of Saturday December 15th for an evening of laughter and community. Significant others encouraged. HPA will provide the food and fun. Look for an email invite with location and more details.

TRAINING

Announcing new SWEAT:30 program!

HPA is excited to announce the addition of a new program SWEAT:30. This coached, high-energy class is 30 minutes of continuous functional movements. We'll use bikes, rowers, skiers, jump ropes, kettlebells, med balls, and dumbbells, but no barbells. Strategically placed in the lunch time hour, this class will allow participants to get in, get sweaty, and get back to work within an hour.

The kickoff to SWEAT:30 will be Friday November 23rd (we know it's black Friday). For the remainder of 2018 classes will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:30. During the launch phase current athletes may attend any SWEAT:30 class for free, we just ask that you bring your best positive attitude (and a friend!). Non-members may attend one free class, then subsequent classes are 10 for $150.

We hope to launch SWEAT:30 as a convenient and less intimidating option and look forward to eventually adding early(ier) morning and Saturday times. Eventually, there will be a SWEAT:30 only membership option. Athletes with a regular class membership will be able to opt to use this as one of their classes if they wish. No fundamentals are required for SWEAT:30 at this time.

Mission this week:

  • Monday we are going to snatch first, then do a very open-esque feeling snatch/TTB couplet. Weight on the snatch increases every round.

  • Tuesday we will front squat heavy. The WOD is simple. Run, burpee then lunge. You get some choice in the run distance and burpee number.

  • Wednesday we will push press heavy, then do a super fun chipper. Row, thruster, ks, pull-up, and run.

  • Thursday we will start prepping for the Gobble Games, so the WOD will be a longer AMRAP with pistols, sit-ups and double unders.

  • Friday only athletes NOT COMPETING should do the WOD. The WOD is the Deadlift ladder for the Gobble Games. If you ARE competing, please feel free to come in and move around and mobilize.

Saturday Gobble Games V. The whole day filled with fun and cheers. No class this Saturday.

SGF - Refresh

This November we invite any current athlete that would like to revisit and improve their fundamental movements to join us for Small Group Fundamental Class. You can jump into one class or all of them, but please let the coach know that you plan to come (still capped at 6 people). SGF meets at the following days and times:

6AM with Coach Jared - Mon, Tues, Thurs

7PM with Coach Heidi, Chris, and Drew - Mon, Tues, Thurs

HyperStrike 2.0

Our 5 week HyperStrike class is almost over! Starting December 1st, HyperStrike Specialty Class will be offered at the following times:

Wed 5:45 pm *

Friday 10:15 am *

Saturday 10:15 am

*Wednesday and Friday will be the same class curriculum and workout. Two times are being offered for convenience. Participants are encouraged to do either Wednesday or Friday in addition to Saturday. Times are subject to change based on participation. 10 class packs are available for $125 for members and $150 for non-members.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

During the Holidays we go to a limited schedule because so many athletes are traveling. By offering only 3 classes we ensure that ALL our coaches get some time off too and that classes are full and fun.

Limited Schedule Days means there will be a 6:15 am, 9:00 am, and 4:30 pm only.
