Gym will be closed this Saturday.  Oh, there is still a workout.  Come join us at 9am on North Beach, Tybee Island.  Friends and Family are welcome.  details below.   CHECK Facebook before you head to the beach for any changes due to weather. 

 

Drew's Words of Wisdom:

 

Have you ever been drowning and not known you were?  The harder you kick the more you actually sink.  You keep digging but instead of finding your way out you actually dig yourself deeper. Sometimes this self sabotage is in the actions we take (or don't take) and sometimes it is in the words we tell ourselves.  "I'll lose 30lbs then join the gym."  "I'm not fit enough to start training."  "I've always been like this."  "It is just my genetics."  "I need to do that someday."  


What are the things that you do (or don't do) or say that are holding you back from being your true self?  Once you figure that out, the next step is finding the appropriate LIFEGUARD.  Everyone NEEDS a lifeguard. The problem is when you don't know what to look for.  Ask a coach for help. Find yours TODAY.

TRAINING

 

Great job last week on the 1 RMs.  This week we are going to work on some endurance strength.  Look for large number of reps done at relatively light weights.  

 

Workouts are back this week as well.

  • Monday- Cleans and burpees done in an EMOM.

  • Tuesday- Row, Box jumps, SDHP, Wall Balls done in a 3 rounds Fight Gone Bad feeling fun fest

  • Wednesday- Partner workouts with Lunges, TTB, and Running.  

  • Thursday- Benchmark workout day.  Lynne.  Mac Press and Pull-ups

  • Friday- Running, Deadlifts, Hang Cleans and Push Jerks

  • Saturday- BEACH DAY.  Meet at north beach for some sandy WOD fun.  The gym will be closed.  

 

 

Youth Lifting Camp - POSTPONED Until July 22nd. 

 

Due to low registrations the Lifting Camp that was scheduled for this week will be held July 22nd - July 24th.   The deadline to register will be Thursday July 18th. 

 

Let Hyperformance Athletics help bridge the gap for your kids from middle school to high school ports.  Hit the ground running next year with a technique camp for lifting weights.  This camp is designed to teach basic weight lifting techniques to rising 7, 8th, and 9th graders. In this camp we will cover lower body lifting techniques for the back squat, front squat, deadlift, lunge, and power cleans. We will cover upper body lifts to include: bench press, shoulder press, push press, and bent over row.


July 22 - 24th  - 11:15.  Cost is $75 and registration is open to any 7th, 8th, or 9th grader in

BEACH WOD

We're taking the workout to North Beach THIS Saturday June 15th.   Family and friends (middle school and older) are also welcome to join us.  Plan to get wet.  Plan to stay to hang out afterwards.   

Please be advised that there will not be a designated person to watch younger children, you will be responsible for their well being while at the beach, just as in normal class.    

 

Friends and Family (teens 15+ with signed waiver from parent) are welcome to attend.  Here's the Facebook event page to share. 

 

In case of inclement weather, there will be a 9am class at the gym.  Make sure to check the facebook page before you head to the beach.

HPA NIGHT OUT At the Savannah Bananas Home Run Derby!

 

Hang out with fellow athletes on evening of Sunday, July 7th.  HPA has 50 reserved tickets (we can get more if those sell out).  Tickets must be paid in advance, cash only, and are $18 each.  They include all you can eat AND fast passes through the lines.   To claim one for you and any immediate family member, pay at the front desk.   Tickets will be handed out the week of the game.
